D2 Creative Session
I was looking at renting a bunch of light tubes. I wanted a space that had a lot of interesting light. Maybe someday I’ll get to do that idea. In the meantime, while looking at different light tubes, I came across a similar idea from John Gress, another Chicago photographer.
I thought it would be fun to create a space around that idea, lit in Duet colors, with clean lines and a metallic reflection.
Foam board was a bit pricey and doesn’t fit in my car, so I settled on trying out some available basic insulation board that Duet had unused. I spent a day cutting all of the boards.
A first base coat of generic paint to prepare it for the metallic paint.
A few coats of metallic paint to finish it off.
Finally ready to put it all together!
Some rosco light filtering material to fill in the gaps, and a fantastic model to test it out.
Time to add a little color with some custom cut gels.
And finally to put it all together, pretty cool!
